The Switlo association in Aristau has reached a new milestone in its history. This Saturday, July 26, 2025, trucks number 100–102 carrying relief supplies will depart for Ukraine. These shipments contain around 1,000 tons of humanitarian aid for the suffering population in the war-torn regions of Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Switlo association has been supporting the Ukrainian people with aid deliveries. We receive goods from compassionate individuals living in safe Switzerland who generously donate food, clothing, and other items. Companies also support us with products such as hygiene supplies, baby food, meat products, generators, and technical equipment. Schools, retirement homes, and hospitals have provided hospital beds, walking aids, bandages, and mattresses for medical facilities in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as tables and chairs for Ukrainian schools. A single shipment to Ukraine costs approximately 4,000 Swiss francs. We are also grateful to those who have supported us financially—with nearly half a million francs raised over the past 3.5 years.
With the 100th truck, we have delivered goods worth several million francs to southern and eastern Ukraine. However, this is still just a drop in the ocean of unimaginable suffering that the population endures day after day. Reaching the 100-truck mark after 3.5 years means that, on average, we have sent a semi-trailer of aid to Ukraine every other week. Of course, the association hopes that this will soon no longer be necessary once the war ends. But as long as there is need, Switlo will continue collecting and supporting. Therefore, we kindly ask the public, companies, and partners who support our cause to continue their active involvement.
